Frustration

One of the frustrating things about living here is the lack of access to anything I want, whenever I want.  I CANNOT find Citrasolv around here!  I need to for a project I'm working on to transfer an image to a canvas frame I have 'a la Ticking & Toile.  I'm going to try a different product I found...but I'm thinking it's a little more toxic than citrasolv.  We shall see.  I hope to have a lil' reveal on some of my projects soon.

  1. Yeah tell me about it I have to mail order so much stuff. You and I cannot just run to a store and buy something we need and if that store doesn't have it certainly another farther down the road will. But that is one reason I live here not so darn many people and I love that about Alaska so I must mail order for my Stickles and put up with it. I can't believe how fast our time here has gone in May we've been here 10 years and I just cannot take crowds of people anymore and lots of traffic. All that I left behind. I have some stuff to transfer images let me see the name Omni-Gel, never used. Look this up and if it will work I'll mail it up to you tomorrow.

  2. I'm in the same boat, so when I did my transfer, I went to the local hardware store and purchased Grease Lightning. I'm not sure how well Citrasolv works, but it seemed to do the trick. Look at T's bedroom reveal, the grain sack headboard is what I used it on.

  3. Nan, thank you so much for the offer! I looked into the Omni-gel and I think it wouldn't be the best thing for this project, but it does look like awesome stuff! If you really don't need it, I'd take it off your hands. :)

Becky, thanks for the tip. I'll go get some of that then. The other stuff I got was a total failure. If worse comes to worse, I'll hand trace it with a marker, but my sample didn't end up looking as good as I'd like...I'm not as crafty as I'd like to be.

  4. I wish I could help but I don't even know what kind of product it is! Is it like a very powerful cleaner?

  5. Sarah, it's a relatively natural, but powerful cleaner. I'm actually thinking now to just buy some transfer paper to do it that way. Hopefully THAT will work.
