About Me

Describing myself is not an easy thing, but I will do my best.  I am many things and some of them don't seem to fit together, but they make up the sum of who I am.

I am a follower of Jesus.  I have been happily married (for 13 years!) to my husband Dave and we have 5 incredible kids.  We home school, cloth diaper, co-sleep, babywear, home birth and use attachment and mostly positive parenting techniques.  I love being the keeper of our home and making it into a real haven for my family.  I am an OCD clean freak (undiagnosed of course) that struggles with balancing my need for perfection vs just letting my kids be kids.

My husband and I are both from the Northwest area and adore it there.  The need for employment forced us to move to interior Alaska where we are doing our best to thrive.  Eventually we hope to move back to Washington State, but we are trusting that God is in total control and this is where he wants us right now.

This blog, Pressing On, has a little bit of this and a little bit of that, as I explore my interests and passions.  It is where I vent, reflect, show off my kids and post about my home and all things to do with homekeeping.  I hope you enjoy reading about my life and can find some inspiration in what I create in my home.

Philippians 3:12-14
~I press on towards the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Jesus Christ.~
~Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead~
~Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me ~ (NIV)
