I'm hoping for a miracle to help me since I just don't "get" things from reading them. I need someone to hold my hand with this, but that's okay. I will persevere!

Practice, practice, practice!
I got my new photography book today! I'm so excited to look through it and start trying out some of the techniques. I'm going to have some issues with all of their outdoor shots they want me to do for practice, since I can't easily get outside when it's below zero (not to mention photos with snow aren't going to be varied enough).

I can't imagine going outside in subzero weather for anything, much less to take pictures...yikes! And just keep practicing and note what works. Books are wonderful for giving you great tips, but it's practice that seems to work best for me!

Ms. Miranda - I have had a passion for photography my whole life. What I miss most is the manual mode of Photography. All I have is a point and shoot digital but I have two Camcorders I can shoot in full manual mode. I'm saving for a Pentax K DSLR but that could be quite the while. Good luck with the book and your new knowledge.
