This is the first of 5 very cheap projects I'll be showing before I do my Master Bath reveal.
We have an area at our local transfer center (re: garbage dump) where people put things that they would normally donate for someone else to take for free. I talked about it HERE. My lovely friend Katie, who calls these places "The Mall", even found an American Girl and gave it to Elsa as a gift. ♥ I also got my husband an expensive squat rack for his workouts, all for FREE! It's a really neat place...I wish they had these all over the U.S.
Last month I found this little broken clock. I don't normally snag home decor items, but this had just a bit of the shape that reminded me of the sunburst wall art craze. The color was a dated rust tone that was popular in the 2000's (is that how best to use that time period?...it's not as easy as saying the 90's, haha)
I removed all of the clock hardware and used some yellow craft paint around the edges for contrast. The whole piece was painted with Antibes ASCP and then I did a teeny bit of distressing to reveal the yellow undercoat.
When the paint was dry, I hot glued a 12" craft mirror from JoAnn's (about $4 with my 40% off coupon) and hung this beauty up! Super easy and super cheap.
LOVE the Antibes Green color! I'm using it as the dominant accent color in my bathroom.
It's added a bright touch with fun personality to the space.
Stay tuned to see the rest of my little projects followed by a Master Bath reveal next week.

How cute is that! I love that they mirror fit right in perfectly. And I had no idea about transfer stations. I may have to check to see if my city has one.

I love the name of 'transfer stations' In our council you arn't allowed to take stuff from the skips :0( In another council they have a recyling shop..it's huge and locals call it 'The Dump'!! Many bargains to be had there.
