We made a trip to Anchorage this week for Dave to have a check up at the base there. We're extending the fun and are hoping to get to the coast and see some glaciers.
It was a beautiful drive. Fall is fully alive in Fairbanks. All my pics are through the window since we don't stop for sightseeing when there is a sleeping baby in the car, ha ha
The colors are mostly orange and yellow, with the occasional glimpse of red (can you see it here in this pic?)
It got greener and greener as we got toward Anchorage. It seems that they're about 2 weeks behind us as far as the leaves changing.
The mountains were stunning
I love the fog that came over the hills and mountains as evening crept in
We ate at the Moose's Tooth today (thanks Heidi for the recommendation!). It was so good. If you are ever in the area, you need to try it.
Then tonight we visited the kids' favorite eating place, The Golden Corral. Yummm. It was extra good because Lydia slept in her car seat the whole time. I don't advocate for excessive car seat use for babies, but since she doesn't nurse well in public places, nor just hang out in my lap happily, it was great to eat AT THE TABLE without standing up and bouncing her while snatching a bite here and there.
In fact, she's still conked out at as we speak, so I guess she was tired.
