Thanksgiving is here. It's one of my most favorite days of the year. A day in which we celebrate and focus on the things that we DO have, the blessings that have been given; spending as much time as possible with those we are thankful for.
Of course, these little people are extremely high on my very long list of things for which I am most grateful.
I hope your day has gone wonderfully and you are basking in the love and warmth of those around you. And that you're enjoying a delicious meal with those same people.
I'll leave you with a fun and easy recipe for slow cooker spiced pecans.
These are yummy and impressive, yet simple to make, so I'm a fan.
Slow Cooker Spiced Nuts
3 cups nuts (pecans, almonds, walnuts or other nut of your choice)
1 egg white
3/4 cup sugar (you could also use maple syrup or other non-grain sweetener)
1 tsp sea salt
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
1/4 tsp paprika
Place nuts in your crock pot. Pour in egg white and stir to fully coat nuts. In a separate bowl, mix together the remaining ingredients. Pour the spice and sugar mixture over nuts in the crock pot and stir again to fully coat. Cook covered on low for 3-4 hours, stirring every 45 minutes or so. If they are not dried out at the end of the cooking time, remove the lid and cook uncovered for a little longer until they are fully dry.
Happy Thanksgiving!
