We got to Oklahoma on Thursday night. We checked into a nice hotel with a decent sized suite and yummy breakfasts. The kids are happy to be done with long car trips for a while.
Friday all day was spent with Dave starting training and getting checked in. I went after his lunchtime and we got my ID card updated so I can be on base by myself. Then I spent the rest of the day trying to find a furnished apartment where we can spend the remainder of our time. It was stressful, but finally I found one that will be available around the 5th. I am thankful.
In the meantime, we are trying to find a more affordable but non-icky hotel to stay in. There's either awesome or gross around here it seems. Ah well, the Lord will provide. The stress is palpable around here, but if Dave and I can keep things sane, we will be successful. We are looking forward to having space of our own where we can cook and the kids can play a little harder. Only 2 more weeks!
The weather here in Oklahoma is beautiful right now, even while tornados whirl around the surrounding states. We're in Tornado alley, so it could be an interesting summer for sure.
I'll post again in a few days when I can update with something interesting and maybe even some pics :)
