My in-laws left this morning. We had a really nice visit. They are so relaxed and quiet, just my speed. :) They spent hours every day reading books with the kids. My daughter had grandma come into her room every morning to wake her up and start reading. It was a really special time together.
And now I listen to those at home in Washington talk about the beautiful weather they're having there. My sister was doing some garden prep in their 50 degree weather and here I am thanking the Lord it's only -17 out there so that the house stays comfortably warm. It's been between -30 and -43 here all week!
I need a new project to curb some of my homesickness. I think I've decided on making a couple of wooden subway style signs. After taking down the Christmas decorations, I am really missing having something over the pellet stove corner. I'm thinking 2 long and narrow signs would fill the space.
After spending hours on Etsy browsing and drooling, I so wish I could afford to buy them custom, but alas, there are no funds for that. This is going to be a long and albeit frustrating project, but it may just the thing to inspire me right now. If you've tackled something similar, I would love to see your tips. I don't have a Crickit or a projector so that makes things more complicated, but it will still be fun (I think). Now to narrow down my choices and decide on the theme and style!

All very nice - I love the Family Rules
